Enhancing Employee Communication with ChatGPT 4.0 Integration in Microsoft Teams

ISL Qatar recognized the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies like ChatGPT 4.0 and DALL·E 2 but needed a way to integrate them into their existing Microsoft Teams platform. They sought to enable specific employees to leverage the power of ChatGPT for intelligent conversation and creative generation while ensuring control over access and managing OpenAI costs. Furthermore, they required a solution that would securely store conversation history for reference and provide a context-aware conversation experience.

Intelliscripts developed a customized bot using the Microsoft Bot Framework and Node.js to seamlessly integrate ChatGPT 4.0 and DALL·E 2 capabilities into Microsoft Teams. The bot was designed to enable early adopter employees to communicate with ChatGPT directly from within the Teams interface. By leveraging the power of ChatGPT, employees gained access to smart answers and engaging conversation experiences. The bot's access was restricted to a specific Distribution List, allowing ISL Qatar's IT team to carefully control who could participate in the early adoption program while managing costs associated with OpenAI.

The solution was built on the Microsoft Bot Framework, utilizing Node.js for development. The framework provided a robust foundation for creating the intelligent chatbot integrated with Microsoft Teams. Intelliscripts leveraged the flexibility and extensibility of the framework to ensure seamless integration and smooth user experience. By utilizing Azure Storage Table, the bot securely stored conversation history for future reference and analysis. The conversation state was maintained for a duration of 2 minutes, enabling users to engage in context-aware conversations with ChatGPT by providing the relevant conversation history within the specified time frame.
